Ah, weekends at the beach. There is nothing like an early morning walk on Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove.  Crisp spring mornings are absent wind and make beach combing a joy.  The rock artists have been busy and their works and labors of love have lasted this time through the high tide. 

Sadie really enjoyed herself chasing birds, playing with the other dogs while trying to remember not to drink the salt water. Seems she has a hard time remember the difference between the ocean and the lake.  

My visit with Mom was good.  We got a lot accomplished including hooking up new cordless phones for the outside lines  and an answering machine for her house phone. However, the biggest accomplishment was getting her new computer setup  to accept  her new email address. After several lengthy phone calls with AT&T the task was completed.  However, it would be more helpful if the techs at AT&T did not have such strong accents...if you know what I mean.  

For those of you who have been following my quest for a new Kayak, I finally did purchase a new Kayak when passing through Livermore.  I bought a Wilderness Systems Tsunami 120 manufactured with the duralite material.  Its much lighter...only 43 lbs.  I got it on sale becasue Wilderness Systems is consolidating its lines (like everyone else) and is not making the duralite anymore. Now I need to get a new paddle ... so the search is on for a bargin on a Werner carbon fiber bent shaft paddle.  They are lots and lots of $$$$. Hope the stock market settles down pretty soon.
